Target Key Congressional Races
This election cycle Independent Action will endorse 30-40 candidates in congressional races. These are races where the individual is either a challenger to a Republican incumbent or running in an open seat. We choose wisely, picking races where our financial endorsement and grassroots organizing can truly make a difference in an election.

Early Money
Early endorsements during Democratic primaries are essential for new campaigns to deliver their message. Independent Action will get involved in Democratic primaries allowing promising candidates the financial foundation to stand up against a well financed Republican or a more conservative Democrat. Early money makes the difference between winning and losing!

Bundling our Resources
This cycle we will offer our members the opportunity to write checks directly to individual candidates in addition to supporting Independent Action. This allows our organization to deliver more powerful financial assistance to our endorsed candidates and keeps our progressive agenda at the forefront of their campaigns.

Youth Campaign
In addition to our financial assistance, Independent Action will recruit and train young people to work on campaigns. This program will allow us to offer skilled field staff to each of our endorsed candidates.

Protecting Our Own Program
A comprehensive strategy of keeping control of the House and Senate must include protecting our own "at-risk" incumbents. The Republican Party has already set their sights on our most vulnerable House and Senate seats, specifically targeting Democratic freshman House members who won their races by small margins in 2006. Independent Action will assist these targeted Democratic members.
